Exploring Akita: A Peaceful Drive & Family Moments πŸš—πŸƒ

Today we managed to get out and enjoy a peaceful drive around Akita, and the scenery was absolutely stunning. Rolling hills, quiet country roads, and that crisp northern air—it really reminded me why this part of Japan is so special.

We also stopped by to visit my wife’s aunt and uncle, which was genuinely heartwarming. It’s always nice to connect with family, especially when you’re away from your usual day-to-day rhythm.

I snapped some videos of Kai and Eita playing, laughing, and just soaking up the attention from everyone. The whole family was in great spirits, and I can’t wait to share those moments with you all soon—there’s something magical about seeing your kids happy and surrounded by love.

Sometimes it does get tiring, though. Kai doesn’t really talk much, and it’s in those quiet moments that we noticed how different he is from Ted. I’d never say that’s a bad thing, but taking Kai on drives seems to help him rest—he really seems to like being in the car. Those drives give him a calm break, and for us, they’re a peaceful way to spend time together.

Tomorrow, I’m planning to head out for a proper sightseeing trip around Akita—camera in hand! I’ll be capturing lots of photos and sharing a little guided tour from a gaijin’s perspective. So, if you’ve ever wondered what Akita looks and feels like through foreign eyes, stay tuned. It’ll be a fun ride, and hopefully, a fresh way to experience this beautiful region.
